On average, 12 million adults publish a blog while 57 million Internet users visit those blogs. Blogs have become increasingly common as a method of communicating with the masses and the most popular blog topics cover life experiences with original writing and a strong voice. Businesses are finding that through the consistent use of blogs, they can keep customers up-to-date on new products and events, organizations can stay in touch with clients, and individuals can share their knowledge, portfolios, and experiences.

Blogging has quickly become an accepted and established form of communication - and, as more blogs are created, search engines index them and make them more accessible. A well-maintained blog that is continually updated is more likely to be indexed by a search engine than one that is setup and never touched.
