ImageRotatorApi – JW Player

The Image Rotator contains a small javascript API. It can be enabled by setting the flashvar enablejs=true. Bank of America, Citigroup and Wells Fargo Co may be downgraded by Moody's, the provider of credit ratings and research covering debt instruments and securities, as the rating firm reviews whether the government will limit its support of the largest financial firms, AFP reported. The banks' present ratings are based on "uplift from Moody's systemic support assumptions that were increased during the financial crisis," the ratings firm said in a statement on Thursday. Lawmakers have overhauled regulations and passed the Dodd-Frank legislation to avoid a repeat of the bailouts that aided firms including Charlotte, North Carolina-based Bank of America, which received USD 45 billion in assistance. "The US government's intent under Dodd-Frank is very clear," said Moody's senior vice-president Sean Jones. "It does not want to bail out even large, systemically important banking groups." The credit rating agency says it expects to place the US' rating under review if political parties do not cut a deal to increase the debt limit soon. Democrats and Republicans have failed to reach an agreement on the issue so far. Bank of America, Citigroup and San Francisco-based Wells Fargo have raised funds from private investors to repay US aid and have been building capital to guard against further declines in housing prices. Paul Craig Roberts, former assistant Ssecretary to the US Treasury, told Press TV on Thursday, "The announcement by Moody's Investors Service is just a theater [performance] to help Wallstreet achieve its end of privatizing public pensions and public healthcare.” "Because of the destruction of American manufacturing and the destruction of American unions, the Democratic party is dependent on the same funding sources as the Republicans. So we cannot rely on the Democrats to protect the elderly's pensions or healthcare from Wall Street," he added.(presstv)

Some emerging design trends include brushed-metal finishes commonly seen on premium Bang & Olufsen displays, ultra-narrow TV bezels and even thinner panels such as the 7.9mm-thin Samsung C9000. Among the various brands, Samsung is probably one of the leaders in TV aesthetics, together with LG, Sony and Philips, while Toshiba has partnered an external design house to beef up its panels' styling. Here's a roundup of some of the latest HDTVs we'd consider sexy.
</br=clear>

Editors' note:
These TVs are sorted alphabetically and not in any ranking order.

Philips Cinema 21:9 Platinum

We liked the picturesque appeal of this sumptuous 58-incher that's dressed in dark brushed-metal. In action, the Philips' unique Ambilight function is capable of projecting an aura of lights from along its sides, a feature absent from all other TVs in this roundup.
Samsung UA55D8000

The UA55D8000 is screaming for attention with its incredibly thin 5mm bezel and shiny aluminum finish. Other special touches include a backlit Samsung logo, a quad-legged swivel stand, as well as a set of touch-sensitive controls.
Samsung PS51D8000

For a plasma TV, the PS51D8000 is surprisingly sleek at 37.1mm thin and holds up pretty well against the LED-edgelit UA55D8000. This 51-incher sports the same metal treatment and four-legged swivel stand on top of a new Plasma+1 design. This delivers an additional inch of screen real estate without increasing the overall bulk of the TV.
Sony Bravia KDL-46HX925

Sony has brought back its signature monolithic and six-degree tilt design launched in 2010 for the KDL-46HX925. That said, the beauty of the edge-to-edge flush panel goes beyond skin deep, featuring a new impact-resistance Corning Gorilla glass protection.
Toshiba Regaz 46WL700

The outcome of a collaboration between Toshiba and the renowned Jacob Jensen design house, this 47-incher cuts a handsome silhouette with its brushed metal shell and a completely flat front that's similar to the KDL-46HX925. There's also a nicely designed stand with a shiny v-shaped shaft that swivels around a circular cutout in the base. - Sent using Google Toolbar"

Coming soon: Better Ads in Gmail

http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1217362&ctx=share

Fewer irrelevant ads

Gmail’s importance ranking applied to ads

Offers and coupons for your local area

With Gmail, we try to do as good a job with ads as we do with email. We use Gmail ourselves, and want its ads to be as relevant and useful as possible. If you've been using Gmail for a while, you may have noticed a time or two where we've missed. Bad ads tend to annoy people. We're trying to cut down on these ads, and make the ones you do see much more useful. With features like Priority Inbox, we’ve been working hard to help sort through the ‘bacn’ in your messages -- the unimportant messages that get in your way. Soon we’re going to try a similar approach to ads: using some of the same signals that help predict which messages are likely to be important to you, Gmail will better predict which ads may be useful to you. For example, if you’ve recently received a lot of messages about photography or cameras, a deal from a local camera store might be interesting. On the other hand if you’ve reported these messages as spam, you probably don’t want to see that deal. Only a few users will notice the change to begin with, but as we improve it we’ll roll it out more widely. As always, ads in Gmail are fully automated-no humans read your messages- and no messages or personally identifiable information about you is shared with advertisers. You can read about the principles we follow for advertising in mail here. We’ve already cut down the number of ads shown per Gmail user by more than a third, and we hope these signals will enable us to continue to show fewer, better ads in Gmail. As with many Gmail features, you can control the use of these signals from the Gmail Settings page. source: Coming soon: Better Ads in Gmail
